Alpine Zig Zag Cowl

Dress up your winter coat with this cheery red cowl that’s perfect for Valentine’s Day ❤.

The design is inspired by a photo I saw of a zig-zag trail down the side of an alpine mountain.

The cowl can be worn two ways: as a standard cowl extending down to the waist, or as an infinity scarf, doubled around the neck. The cowl is worked in the round so no sewing is required. Once you’re done crocheting, it’s ready to wear!  And it’s a quick project, too.

The pattern is now available to purchase from Ravelry.

And you’re not just limited to red. The recommended yarn (Feels Like Butta from Lion Brand) comes in a variety of cool colors.

The cowl also looks great in WHITE, or try a combo of two colors like I did here with RED and WHITE:

Three handmade infinity scarves in red, white, and red & white combo

A second version of this cowl (shorter and multicolored) is available in the Spring 2021 “Pusheen” issue of Your Crochet & Knitting (a UK publication that comes with the yarn needed for the project). The only way I’ve found to get a copy in the U.S. is online through the UK company CraftStash, which ships to the U.S.
